Scallops for PPA #82

Here's my card  for PPA 82 with an emphasis on Scallops. The punch bunch SU 'for you' stamp fits perfectly with the SU scallop punch, followed by my giant scallop punch (orange) and then to finish off i've bordered the card with straight scallops in green card.

I'm an artist pick at HSS too!

Two in a week-it's like buses! I was one of the top 3 (out of 4!) for this card  at HSS - it's still v.exciting stuff for me :)


And an amazing set of comments I got for the card too-8 people!

Treat holder is back!

I found another challenge to work with in Hand Stamped Sentiments #55 (As you can see i'm getting rather addicted to challenges!)
I was looking at the sketch but wasn't too keen on the pocket shape; I then remembered the good old treat holders in this post and voila an idea formed!

I still had scraps left over from my last card (and one of the many scallop motifs!) So all that was left to do was pop something inside the holder- I chose a little label and heat embossed a birthday cake in gold.  


The second pic (below) shows what the label looks like in full.

Bright Birthday

I had fun working with the Colour Q challenge #72 colours this week. I wanted to carry on using my new scallop and circle punches so that's what I did. I actually made about 16 of these little motifs all in different combinations of the 4 colours- so will probably be creating with these for some time! I am quite proud of the stamped sentiment at the bottom- a bit of a delicate task colouring in each of the letters separately but a great result i think :)

SU! Stamping wheels

I thought i'd have a play with my SU stamping wheel "trendy trees"  again after spotting the latest challenge on SUO. I'm one of these people who like to mix and match my craft products so to keep totally to SU ones was a little tricky for me- but kept me more focussed. I used my new Scallop punch and 1"1/4 inch punch (which nicely sits inside the scallop) and then the sentiment is from the "curly cute" stamp set. I can't remember the names of the colours (sorry!)-but i will go away and find out!

Mojo Monday Random House

 Ok final card for today. Its my last minute attempt at Mojo Monday challenge 177. Well, actually I've been thinking about it for a while, but just had time to sit down and play with it.

Here's the layout and I decided to flip it around a bit....




Now the first thing that came to me was- hey it looks like a little house!


So that's what I went with...a rather Random House! I even found a little yellow picket fence in my supplies :) And my new punches came in great for the Sun and window shapes. 

Love is in the air

With tomorrow being valentine's day I thought i'd better get a move on! With so many blogs taking on this theme there's so much inspiration out there to call upon. However I went with a simple design but I think its quite cute.

Stampin Royalty Challenge #58

I took Stampin Royalty's theme of HEARTS, HEARTS, and more HEARTS  this week and ran with it! Although I have just realised I haven't actually done any stamping on this one-doh! (I'll save that for inside..!)

My hand is a bit sore from all the punching through thick gold paper :)  But I wanted to make this card glint a bit, which the metalic paper certainly does -here's a pic with the flash

My new Punch Bunch owls with golden hearts to match the outside of the card.

Scrapping with little leaves

Yey! I did a scrapbook page!! I have had these 2 pictures sitting around at the back of an album for about 2 years now-and always thought of doing something with turquoise with them. I then spotted a challenge that fitted perfectly last week CR84FN13, but me being me, i missed the last entry time :( But hey-at least it go me scrapping again. That and going along to Mj's scrap day (well afternoon/eve for me)

I also got to try out my latest ebay purchase: a Stampin UP sizzlit die: Little leaves. I'd seen this motif used on various SU blogs but it doesn't appear to be available in the UK yet..

Paper Pals Art Challenge 79

My offering on this week's PPA79 Challenge is purely stamping- with SU's sweetpea set.

Alas I didn't have the exact colours so had to improvise with those I did have, but you get the jist :)

The stamping isn't very exact or even but I think this adds to the 'homemade card' feel!
