Continuing with Kraft

Continuing my desire to work with the colour 'Kraft', I landed on this week's challenge from ColourQ with the following palette:

And the layout comes from Monday Mojo 175 which features a nice big circle-once again ideal for my birdie motif!

I didn't know how I was going to add a bow to the card, but at the last minute I remembered a kraft coloured twine I have a stash of, and thought that would work nicely-not taking too much away from the main motif.
I think i'll wait to add a sentiment until I need to give the card away :)

Create for fun challenge 12 (CR84FN 12)

My creation for CR84FN 12

CR84FN is another challenge blog I have been checking out.
I have been getting in to using "kraft" coloured paper and card recently so it was great to find a challenge that used it.
My card is CASED from one I admired by Michelle Gale via In Love with Stamping. I recently got  a little flower punch so I was ready to go. The grid was created using my Martha Stewart scoring board and this was my second attempt as in the first the lines went wonky!

Happy Birthday Cake time!

I managed to try out a recipe from The Hummingbird bakery cookbook yesterday (another christmas prezzie!) I realised i'd run out of muffin cases, but found I had some gold ones still left over from my wedding cupcakes (2.5 years ago now!) And since it was a friend's b'day I thought i'd use them :) Quite a bizarre recipe "brown bottomed cupcakes" but worth it in the end.
I've always wanted to make cake toppers too, but never had reason too-until now-so I grabbed my "wow flowers" happy birthday stamp and went about on a stamping frenzy. I cut out matching card to border them (bit tough cutting out all these circles without punches,  since it had the correct size circles) and sellotaped then onto cocktail sticks.

Bird Punch goodness!

I learnt a new word (well, actually I'd heard it before but found out what it meant in the scrapbooking/cardmaking community) this week: CASE! Meaning "Copy And Share Everything" - but in reality it means you totally nicked someone's idea! However, as long as you say you "cased" something, at least you are not taking the credit for the idea :)

Anyway, with that precursor in place I can move on without guilt to my recent creations that are pretty much cased from a beautiful collection of work by Nancy Riley!

There's still space to work on this one, but I thought i'd show it anyway:)

As you can see I now have the 2-step bird punch in my possession! A Christmas gift from Hubby- which I have been itching to get for a while and have been drooling over some of the creations people have made with it.

And so onto my next creation...

My entry for: PPA-76 and MOJO 172
I've found another Blog challenge site! Mojo Monday. Its a Sketch challenge blog; this week's being MOJO 172
Being the first of the month, there's a bit more of an incentive-with stamp prizes up for grabs. And hense over 350 entries! And if that were not all, I've done a double whammy by combining it with Paper Pals Art-Colour Challenge -76

Oh gosh-have I bitten off too much?!

Wedding time!

We're off to a wedding tomorrow, so I spent last night creating a card. I took the main structure from my last engagement card post, but did a fair bit of gold embossing this time. I used the 5 petal flower punch and the flower stamp from SU polka dot punches. Finally got to use a stamp from my new stamp set: Curly cute.
I had a little bride and groom stamp from my own wedding-so added this motif too. Without it it could have been an engagement or even baby card! Will have to work on that one.
