Bird punch box and cards set

I've got a little thing for making 3x3" cards at the moment, I love making them, and they may lovely presents too-when popped in a box and this time I even made the envelopes too!

The dsp pattened paper is retired i'm afraid, but the bird punch isn't, nor the word window punch. I even made multiple stickers using the 'Teeny Tiny wishes' stamp set that will fit nicely into the word window -so the cards can be made up for any occasion.

A punchy peacock!

Ta dah! I have been working on this little number since Christmas-after getting my 2 step bird punch. I thought there must be a way of making a peacock, so I got experimenting. I did use the 2 step bird punch- the branch i used for the outline of the feathers, then 2 birds together for the body. Here's how it looked before I stuck it all together:

I thought I'd enter this one into PPA's 100th birthday blog post "What's your technique?" (it's punching btw!)
I added a bit of texture to the body with more little punched hearts which I dipped in light green ink for a little definition.
For the headpiece I ended up using wire and beads (I had originally tried the leaves from the branch punch, but they just weren't working)

Enjoy!

CR84FN 20 (Plum, Lavender & Green)

CR84FN 20 has my favourite card colours for their challenge this week, so I got to make another card with my favourite birdy!
I confess I cased this one from  Julie's stamp Journal where she made a beautiful orange version.
Sorry the photo is a bit dull-poor lighting i'm afraid :(

Purples and Greens

I couldn't go too long without bringing back the purple birdie-and here he is! The colour combination at Just Add Ink works really well for my favourite birdie combos. The sketch is from Mojo Monday 182 - it uses a nice big circle shape-which I can frame the bird with.

Continuing with Kraft

Continuing my desire to work with the colour 'Kraft', I landed on this week's challenge from ColourQ with the following palette:

And the layout comes from Monday Mojo 175 which features a nice big circle-once again ideal for my birdie motif!

I didn't know how I was going to add a bow to the card, but at the last minute I remembered a kraft coloured twine I have a stash of, and thought that would work nicely-not taking too much away from the main motif.
I think i'll wait to add a sentiment until I need to give the card away :)

Bird Punch goodness!

I learnt a new word (well, actually I'd heard it before but found out what it meant in the scrapbooking/cardmaking community) this week: CASE! Meaning "Copy And Share Everything" - but in reality it means you totally nicked someone's idea! However, as long as you say you "cased" something, at least you are not taking the credit for the idea :)

Anyway, with that precursor in place I can move on without guilt to my recent creations that are pretty much cased from a beautiful collection of work by Nancy Riley!

There's still space to work on this one, but I thought i'd show it anyway:)

As you can see I now have the 2-step bird punch in my possession! A Christmas gift from Hubby- which I have been itching to get for a while and have been drooling over some of the creations people have made with it.

And so onto my next creation...

My entry for: PPA-76 and MOJO 172
I've found another Blog challenge site! Mojo Monday. Its a Sketch challenge blog; this week's being MOJO 172
Being the first of the month, there's a bit more of an incentive-with stamp prizes up for grabs. And hense over 350 entries! And if that were not all, I've done a double whammy by combining it with Paper Pals Art-Colour Challenge -76

Oh gosh-have I bitten off too much?!
